A natural Ceylon sapphire whose colour moves between light yellow and yellow. The stone is photochromic: prolonged exposure to light, or a period in darkness, gradually shifts its tone, and the change reverses. Few sapphires show this, and it is best appreciated by watching the stone over a day.
The 3.031 ct oval is evenly coloured and transparent, with medium fluorescence, and shows no indications of treatment.
Mined at Téja's own pit at Horaketiya, Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, and cut in Sri Lanka.
Bellerophon Gemlab, Paris, has identified it as a natural sapphire of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) provenance, colour light yellow to yellow, with reversible photochromism, report no. C02954, dated 8 October 2026. The report, with a 360° video, can be verified at bellerophongemlab.com.
