A natural, unheated Ceylon sapphire with a split character. One half of the stone is an intense blue; the other carries the soft, silky milkiness Sri Lankan miners call geuda. The boundary between them shows face-up as a visible band.
Geuda is the material that is usually heated to dissolve its silk and deepen its blue. This stone has not been: Bellerophon Gemlab found no indications of any treatment, so it shows both states of Ceylon corundum in a single crystal, as it came from the ground. It will suit a buyer who values an untreated stone with a story over uniform colour.
Mined at Téja's own pit at Horaketiya, Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, and cut in Sri Lanka.
Bellerophon Gemlab, Paris, has identified it as a natural sapphire of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) provenance, colour intense blue, report no. C02950, dated 8 October 2026. The report, with a 360° video, can be verified at bellerophongemlab.com.
