A natural cobalt spinel of Ceylon provenance in intense blue, faceted as a cushion and weighing 2.592 ct. The colour is even and stable. It is transparent, shows no fluorescence and shows no indications of treatment.
Its blue comes from cobalt, the element behind the most sought-after blue spinels. Cobalt spinel is found in only a few places, Sri Lanka among them.
Mined at Téja's own pit at Horaketiya, Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, and cut in Sri Lanka.
Bellerophon Gemlab, Paris, has identified it as a natural cobalt spinel of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) provenance in intense blue, report no. C01870, dated 4 May 2026. The report, with a 360° video, can be verified at bellerophongemlab.com. The report notes that it may be called "Vibrant" due to its ideal cutting proportions, and gives an estimated age of about 550 million years.
